Each koa guitar back and sides set we offer is carefully bookmatched and air-dried to ensure stability, tonal integrity, and stunning aesthetics. Whether you’re looking to craft a boutique instrument or a show-stopping centerpiece, our selection of figured koa provides both performance and beauty. The natural shimmer of koa, especially in its higher grades, adds visual depth that complements its complex tonal palette—bright, articulate highs with rich, blooming mids that improve with age.
For builders who appreciate tonal contrast and want to experiment with hybrid builds, we also carry complementary species like maple guitar back and sides, known for their clear, bright response and striking grain variations. Pairing koa with other tonewoods or using it across the entire body allows for tonal customization that meets the needs of fingerstyle players, flatpickers, and studio musicians alike. Each tonewood tells a story, and our figured koa sets bring the voice and visual soul of Hawaii to your next acoustic masterpiece.
